Millions adore old Hindi film songs, yet many are unaware of the lyricists behind them, particularly Majrooh Sultanpuri, who penned nearly 2000 songs. His remarkable body of work spans over half a century, capturing a vast array of emotions and resonating across generations. This biography delves into his extensive repertoire, including a dedicated chapter on ghazals that explains the form while exploring Majrooh’s contributions. The author, Manek Premchand, holds a diploma in Journalism and a degree in Arts from Bombay University.
