This volume features papers from the Third International Conference on Security in Pervasive Computing (SPC 2006), held April 19–21, 2006, in York, UK. The conference emphasized methods, tools, principles, and practices for assessing and achieving security in pervasive environments. Discussions included new security concepts across various domains and applications such as handheld devices, mobile phones, smartcards, RFID chips, and smart labels, alongside emerging technological spaces. Fundamental themes addressed included risk identification and mitigation, security policies for pervasive environments, privacy measures (particularly cryptographic protocols), and mobility and location-aware services. The submissions encompassed topics like biometrics, ambient intelligence, Web services, and security requirements. Out of 56 submissions, 16 full papers were accepted for presentation, with each reviewed by the international Programme Committee. We extend our gratitude to the Programme Committee members and additional reviewers for their thorough reviews and discussions. Special thanks are also due to the authors for their contributions, keynote speaker Frank Stajano, invited speaker Howard Chivers, and the Department of Computer Science at the University of York for their support of the event.
