Yeatsova mystická práce, včetně souboru povídek Rosa Alchemica, obsahuje symbolické prvky a naznačuje základní prvky velkého zasvěcení. Příběhy zkoumají vztah křesťanství a pohanských mýtů, vyrovnanost bílé a černé magie, a jeho lásku k rodnému Irsku. Starokeltské balady zde ožívají novým životem a jejich obraznost otevírá cestu do nitra duše.

Kniha symbolických próz irského spisovatele a nositele Nobelovy ceny za literaturu z roku 1923 Williama Butlera Yeatse (1865–1939) nachází jednotu historických epoch, hlavních období lidského života a charakterových typů v cyklu měsíčních fází. Yeats věnoval Vizi téměř patnáct let svého života a první verzi z roku 1924 upravoval a doplňoval až do roku 1931.
