Focusing on an entomological study conducted in 2019 along the Algerian far west coast, the research aimed to identify the presence of the Aedes albopictus mosquito. The study surveyed eleven sites, revealing five mosquito species predominantly from the Culicinae subfamily, with Culiseta longiareolata being the most prevalent at 69%. The findings indicate a low diversity and abundance of species, with none linked to significant disease transmission, and notably, the tiger mosquito was not found in the region.

Cette étude entomologique de 2019 sur les Culicidae dans l'extrême ouest algérien révèle cinq espèces, dont Culiseta longiareolata est la plus abondante. Les populations sont peu diversifiées et ne confirment pas la présence d'Aedes albopictus, avec aucune implication dans la transmission d'agents pathogènes majeurs.
