This volume presents the unfinished first draft by Heinrich Rohdenburg, intended to explore “Geomorphology and Landscape Ecology.” In the initial section, he outlines speculations, hypotheses, and models meant for later expansion and comparison with field evidence. Due to his untimely passing, the text remains in its draft form, lacking examples, figures, and photographs. Despite these shortcomings, I wish to share this work with his colleagues, hoping it will inspire further research into the often-overlooked larger spatial and temporal scales of geomorphological evolution. The style has been preserved to maintain authenticity, and the English version closely reflects the original German text. This work aims to present a clearer conceptual framework of Rohdenburg’s thoughts on geomorphological process systems, building on insights gained from fieldwork that differ from his earlier publication. The introduction highlights the significance of geomorphology in landscape ecology, demonstrating how processes create specific landforms that serve as indicators for analyzing the landscape's three-dimensional structure. The book encourages synthesis through discussions of “intellectual tools” and relevant, often neglected facts. While only the first part (Chapters 1-10) is complete, the second part has begun with a discussion on “The wet-dry tropics” (Chapter 11). Readers are invited to engage with and apply these tools in their own r
