Back to the City is a trilingual catalogue and workbook by Polonca Lovšin (*1970, Ljubljana), a trained architect, sculptor and media artist. Also her recent video animation is of the same title and was created on the basis of a long-term research on bees, dealing mostly with man's attitude towards the environment, food, and nature in cities and in the countryside. Besides Lovšin’s video animations, her inventions (objects) and Dynamo projects stand for inventive and sometimes absurd solutions to alternative energetic problem issues. These projects are the foundation to the series of Dynamo projects connecting public space, group performance and technologies. The illustrated book includes all of Lovsin’s works and projects over the curse of the last 9 years as well as artwork concepts, video-scripts and an interview with Silke Opitz, German art historian, curator and editor of the publication.
