Remarque , je nejlepší spisovatel všech dob , ještě ho nikdo nenahradil a asi nikdy nenahradí , tedy to je můj názor.
Nejopravdovější a nejosobnější autorovo dílo s autobiografickými rysy. Hrůzy války jsou líčeny až naturalisticky, nechybí ale humor a radostné pasáže. Z díla je jasně cítit protiválečná kritika. Opět jeden z důkazů, že knižní předloha je mnohem lepší i než povedený film.
Opět klenot světové literatury. Je třeba přečíst. Je to o to aktuálnější, že dnešní mládež nejen že tuto knihu nečetla, dokonce ani není, kdo to byl její autor. Nevědí nic, a tím snáze jsou ovlivnitelní.
