Unaware of each other's childhood, Jannali and Laqueta are two women whose worlds become permanently intertwined. Laqueta is born into tragedy in South Africa as her mother commits suicide right after the baby's birth, and Jannali is an Australian Aboriginal who must navigate her own world of ethnic prejudice. They suffer violence at the hands of ambitious and shameless men - to be crushed, it would seem. But both women are strong-willed and passionate about their goals, and fate has much more in store. Jannali and Laqueta is an inspiring tale of human spirit. The characters are compelling, both male and female, and an array of themes perhaps leave a question for a curious mind.
