Více o knize

In a distant village, the animals and birds vanished years ago, leaving only a rebellious young teacher and an old man to speak of these mythical creatures to the children, who have never seen them. A lonely boy dreams of animals, mimics their sounds, and becomes an outcast, ultimately disappearing. Maya, a brave girl, and her friend Matti venture into the surrounding woods, aware of the dangers, especially the Mountain Demon, Nehi, who descends upon the village at night. In a hidden cave, they discover the vanished boy, content in his solitude. Their journey leads them to a stunning garden paradise, the home of Nehi, who is revealed to be a former villager mocked for being different. His revenge was to steal the village's animals, creating a sanctuary where predators coexist peacefully. However, this act of vengeance has isolated him as well. Nehi allows Maya and Matti to return home, hinting that one day, when cruelty fades and his desire for revenge diminishes, the animals might return to the village.
