They establish a theocracy, expelling other faiths, enforcing polygamy, and adopting communal living. Led by John of Leiden, who claims divine authority, they prepare for Judgement Day in 1535. As the city faces a brutal siege, the narrative explores themes of religious fanaticism, persecution, and the tragic consequences of fervent belief, echoing the religious conflicts that followed.
