Více o knize
Henry Fielding's life was marked by a blend of literary brilliance and social activism. Born in 1707, he started as a playwright, critiquing authority until the 1737 Theatrical Licensing Act stifled political satire. Transitioning to law, he became a barrister and London's Chief Magistrate. His literary legacy includes the picaresque novel "Tom Jones," which showcases his storytelling prowess. Despite personal losses and declining health, he founded the Bow Street Runners, a precursor to modern policing, before his death in 1754.
