His experiences as a war correspondent, particularly in the Congo, influenced his storytelling, leading to works like The Four Just Men and Sanders of the River. Wallace ventured into Hollywood as a scriptwriter for RKO before his untimely death during the drafting of King Kong. His immense output reportedly accounted for a significant portion of published works in England during his time.
