Memoirs of a Porcupine

The story explores the dark journey of Kibandi, a boy in a Congolese village, who undergoes a chilling initiation into a life of violence at the age of eleven. After consuming a mysterious potion, he and his animal double, a porcupine, become partners in a series of brutal acts against their community. As Kibandi's reliance on his double grows, a turning point arises when the porcupine refuses to continue this path of murder, opting instead for literary expression, leading to a profound exploration of guilt and identity.
