In 1980, at the age of 16 I joined the army (the Royal Pioneer Corps) and 23 years later I retired as a Staff Sergeant and became a teacher at Tuxford Academy. During my service I traveled to many parts of the world including: Belize, Northern Ireland, The Gulf States, Bosnia, Angola and Germany. This isn't the story of a battle hardened person because I was just an average soldier, but this book is about my experiences and all the people I met and their awesome qualities.
