První kniha série, kterou možná znáte i díky seriálu Babylon Berlin, se jmenuje Mokrá ryba. Název je slangový výraz pro nevyřešený případ. Seznamujeme se v ní s detektivem Gereonem Rathem, který musí opustit kolínskou policii a začít znovu v Berlíně. Skončí na mravnostním – není to zrovna vysněné místo, ale lepší než nic. Na předválečný Berlín jsem byl hodně zvědavý a kniha nezklamala. Jsou tam divoké večírky, erotické fotky i filmy, drogy, alkohol – a všechno skvěle popsané. Do toho se přidává i politika, protože v té době to v Německu začínalo mezi pravicí a levicí pořádně vřít. Navíc se Berlín plnil uprchlíky z komunistického Ruska, takže o napětí nebyla nouze. Budete chtít rozhodně chtít číst všechny další díly.
