   It is 1888. After Holmes had exposed the Baron's guilt in the notorious Ripper crimes, the Baron Barlucci escaped London with Abigail Drake. They left on the barque, the Animus Lacuna. The ship was reported lost at sea, and soon after, some Newfoundland fishermen discovered a longboat carrying Drake's body. But when Scotland Yard Inspector Andrews came to claim the body, it had disappeared. The Yard called for Holmes to investigate. Soon Holmes and Watson found themselves back in New York, working with (and sometimes despite) New York Police detectives Mylo Strumm and Michael Murray.
